One of my greatest fears

This is what I'm afraid I might do if I ever try ecstacy.

Immediate Death Sentence #1

Ok, I'll post these every once in a while when one comes up for me. My first example of an IDS...let me explain what this is. An IDS is when you could and should be legally allowed to do away with someone. This is my first example. I work at a restaurant and I'm a closer. For those who don't know what that is, it means I help close the store. Here is my typical work night:

5pm-6pm- goof off (because we're not busy)

6pm-7pm- goof off (because we're not busy)

7pm-8pm- little bit of work, little bit of goof off time

8pm-9pm- get all of my closing work done (we close at 10pm)

9pm-9:50pm- goof off (because we're not busy)

9:50-10:00- SERVE THE ENTIRE FREAKIN TRI-STATE AREA!!!!

It should be legal to off anyone who comes into a restaurant with food orders when there are only 10 minutes left!!! And if, IF, you are one of those patrons and you happen to work at a restaurant yourself, the GOD help your soul!!!

I've said my peace.

Here's a funny Family Guy videoclip that makes me laugh every time.

My second favorite band ever!

I just wanted to share this with everybody.

It's been boring

I think I have a pinched nerve in my left arm. Whenever I move my left arm, the whole damm thing goes tingly and hurts after awhile. I can't figure out what it is. Also, because I don't have insurance, YET, I can't go to a doctor. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I did send all my information to Korea so I can get my visa! Yea! That's all for now.

A New Way to Solve Problems!

Ok, if no one gets the reference. Just think World Cup. Germany. 2006. France. Versus Italy. Number 10. Zidane! Sheesh!

Email to my friends

Hello all,

I hope everyone's summer has been a good one so far. Mine has been ok. I currently work partime a local eatery here. Penn Station. As many of you know, I have been looking to go abroad to live and work. Well since finding a job in the UK has been a pain and unsuccessful, I have decided to teach English in South Korea for at least a year. Along the way I hope to have a little fun...soju...hehehe...drinking's fun...to meet my grandmother for the first time and to get to know my other side. So, I'm going back to the motherland!

Throughout my years in graduate school, we had to write journals documenting our processes which I sucked at. I would always fall behind on them or do them at the last minute. I know that I want to document my time there and I know if I had to do this in some journal, I would have just one entry. Ok, possible two. Three on a good stretch. So...I decided to create a blog. Why? Because if I only do this for myself, I know I won't write, but if others come and take a look, I will WANT to do it. It's been up for a couple of weeks now, so come take a look, leave comments and enjoy my journey.

The address is www.herrswetts.com

I have just accepted a position at a school in Seoul, South Korea and my scheduled start date if August 21. Not much time left here. Only a couple of weeks. So feel free go to the site if you want, if not, no worries.

Catch ya on the flip side.

Peace, peace and chicken grease,

Adrian

Seoul Brotha's Grand Opening!

Hello all,

I just saw that I'm now on the Korean Blog list and I just sent out an email to my friends and colleagues about my blog, so I guess this is the official grand opening of Seoul Brotha! Get it? Half-black, half-Korean. Seoul Brotha. TT would understand. So ya, I accepted a position with Topia English Zone in Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu Seoul, South Korea. So, this is what I now have to do according to an email I got from my recruiter:

Hello Adrian

Thanks for your email.

Let me tell you the next step for the Visa.

Please send the visa documents to the school ASAP.
These are documents for the Visa.

- Your original diploma
- Transcript ( Sealed one) ( Sealed(unopened) one from the university is necessary
1.... Transript should has a university's stamp on the sealed envelop.
2..... Transcript should has a issued date in the transcript(not on the envelop).
< Sealed transcript should be filled this requirement >
So, When you ask about your transcript to the university, Please let them fill this requirements.
- A photocopy of your Passport
- 4 passport size pictures.
- Your resume
-- The original signed contract
-
------ Diploma will return to you after Visa processing. So, even though you send your original diploma, you can get it back again.

You can contact with the Korean consulate that is nearest from you.
I hope you send your all documents to School directly as soon as possible.
After we get all your documents, we will submit them to immigration to get your certified visa number . And then the immigration office will send the certified visa number to your email address , and Korean embassy will stamp your visa onto your passport. It's good to make a phone call to the Consulate before going there.
You can pick up your ticket from the airline and with your visa in hand, and your bags packed you can start your adventure. Your employer will pick you up at the airport and take you to your apartment and the school.

After reading all of this I pulled a Marge Simpson

Marge:MMMMMMMMMMM!

Now I just have to tell my parents in a few minutes!

But beware! This is what happens when you mess with a French soccer player! Especially when this is his last game, EVER!

Movin on up!

Hello one and all! Well not much to tell today. I told one of my best friends that I wasn't moving with her to Chicago because I'm moving to Korea! It was a sad moment. We were the yellow connection. But it will still exist! Long distances cannot break the connection!...Dammit!

I have also changed the name of my blog from "A Day in the Life" to "Seoul Brotha." If you have opinions about this, I am very interested in knowing what they are. I am also putting my blog on the Korean Blog List. I know that I'm not in Korea yet, but I might get some helpful pointers before I get there.

Speaking of which...I have an interview with Topia English Zone in Nowon, Seoul, so if you have any info on their school, that would be excellent! Also, if anyone has any info on YBM or CDI that would be most appreciated as well.

One final word, Shelly of Shelly's Seoulfull Adventures, Rachel of Rachel Lynn Seoul and Shaun of I have Seoul have been instrumental guides and research material for my decision on coming to Korea, so I want to thank you very much and would like to buy you all a beer once I get there.

Peace, peace and chicken grease!

One last thing, here is a kick ass commercial by Adidas.

Pretty Boring Day

Not much to report. I do have news on the Korean teaching front, but I'm not saying anything because of the possibility of bad luck sinking in. But, I'll say that things are looking on the up and up on that issue.

One funny story that happened here. You would had to have been here to actually find it funny, but since this IS my blog, just pretend, nod your head and laugh at the end. Trust me, you will feel better. Ok, so there is this kid and his name is Brian. He's really a nice kid. Honestly. But the funny thing about him is that when he opens his mouth, he sounds like...well put it this way...if Wookies could actually speak words, they would sound just like Brian.

Ok, so...there is a conversation going on among a few people. I think that it had to do with women issues or something. Brian say this:

"I think I better go. Rorrr wooor arrgh rorrrrrr wwerrrorr!"

I find this so funny, I immediately had to take this picture of myself.

Well, today is our Independence Day! I spent it hanging around the parents house. Saw the Italy-Germany World Cup match! Wow! Italy had Germany on the defensive the whole game. But I can't believe in the last minute, 2 goals! But if it did go to a shootout, Germany would have one. But now I have to root for the French. Zizou needs one more cup! Go Les Bleus!
